Piemme came of age in the late 90s, when he got his first hands-on photography experiences and exposure to post-industrial aesthetics. Simply put, he's self-taught and maître à penser of himself, in that his creative itinerary and background deviate from those of most Italian artists. As such, he declares neither mentors nor affiliations. He follows his instinct, stimulated, as it were, by mere intellectual curiosity as well as an innate ability to manipulate and re-configure images that belong to a shared visual repertoire, the paradigms of which are now crystallized in our collective memory.
