More than representing a particular imagery or denouncing a reality or condition(whether political, religious or aesthetic), what really drives Agenor Martí as an artist is the possibility of constructing a visual language. An adaptable prism that is able to reflect each and every world there is with perfect efficacy. A methodically engineered code for the representation of anything and everything. He thinks that a consummated style is the greatest legacy an artist can leave. And what is a style if not a system of aesthetic codes? I think the style is a paradox after all. It is contained within the artist as a seed from the very beginning and, at the same time, we try to reach it throughout all of our lives. We try to consummate that which is already in us. From this point of view and since he is more concerned in the development of the code, than in the message itself, he is fascinated with all cultures and all manifestations of folklore. Among other things, he believes there's a shared pulse behind all of them. He also feels attracted to a wide range of themes because, in the long run, the isolated creative processes and the messages are both trivial; the only thing that matters is the systematization of patterns of portrayal and its relation with the different worldviews (either collective or individual), from which those patterns gestate. Agenor is convinced that is the genuine origin of a truly global artistic language.
