Although I've had a lifelong interest in art, I only started to paint in 2008. I'm self-taught. My favorite artists are Willem DeKooning, Melville Price, Nicolas de Stael, Michael Goldberg, Joan Mitchell, Ralph Turturro, Iain Robertson, Robert Rauschenberg, & Julian Schnabel. Sept. 2009--Emerging Artist exhibition, Artworks Around Town, Wheeling WV Currently exhibiting @ Artworks Around Town, Wheeling WV I agree with the critic who once said that a painting does not have to be "about" anything other than the process of its own creation. All art is self-portraiture. "I rarely want to know what's in the artist's mind. Finding out what an artist thinks about his art is nowhere near as exciting as finding out what it means to you." - David Bowie
