Who will become the next artsetter artist ? Vote
Artsetter is changing the rules of the art market: contemporary art is no longer an elite entity. As the curators, members vote to determine which candidates will become the next Artsetter artists. Become an artsetter, and participate in this revolution by voting to express your artistic taste.
These are the Artsetter Artist applicants. Artists with enough votes will be granted an Artsetter gallery to display their artwork. Artists need 50 votes to be selected. Browse through the artists and vote for your favorites!

More than representing a particular imagery or denouncing a reality or condition(whether political, religious or aesthetic), what really drives Agenor Martí as an artist is the possibility of constructing a visual language. An adaptable prism that is able to reflect each and every world there is with perfect efficacy. A methodically engineered code for the representation of anything and everything. He thinks that a consummated style is the greatest legacy an artist can leave. And what is a style if not a system of aesthetic codes? I think the style is a paradox after all. It is contained within the artist as a seed from the very beginning and, at the same time, we try to reach it throughout all of our lives. We try to consummate that which is already in us. From this point of view and since he is more concerned in the development of the code, than in the message itself, he is fascinated with all cultures and all manifestations of folklore. Among other things, he believes there's a shared pulse behind all of them. He also feels attracted to a wide range of themes because, in the long run, the isolated creative processes and the messages are both trivial; the only thing that matters is the systematization of patterns of portrayal and its relation with the different worldviews (either collective or individual), from which those patterns gestate. Agenor is convinced that is the genuine origin of a truly global artistic language.

Looking at the world, children focus their attention on details. For most of us, these fragments are trivial. Kids can’t have an all-embracing view, for the world around them is too abstract, too wide. They only see but fragments of the whole and focus on a world that grown-ups no longer perceive at first sight. As far as they’re concerned, adults look at the world they live in, in a holistic way. This probably is why they’re bound by reason. Or, on the contrary, what leads them to madness. Who knows? Through my pictures, I intend, in all modesty, to bring those fragments of childhood back to life, to capture all those things that have become invisible to most of us. Pierre Gable Born in France, 42 years ago, he leaves rainy days, and the sweet melancholy of Stanislas Square behind to move in, together with his mate Carole, on the sunny banks of the Garonne River, which flows through the « Ville Rose » (Toulouse), now dear to his heart. A plant explosion still echoed in three letters, AZF, then rushes him to reach to higher valleys. He’s been living since then in the Haute-Provence area, once home to his masters, Jean Giono and Cartier Bresson. Today, as a freelance photographer, he works for literary publishers and involves in promoting various artists (concerts, CD booklets, web advertising, video clips, etc.) Following a past exhibition held in Valence (France), in 2009, he’s now preparing the next one, to take place in São Paulo (Brazil). In november 2010, Pierre Gable, has been selected as the 2010 GGAF International Invited Artist in Florida. The works gathered here, each raise the fundamental issue of intrinsic bonds existing between Man and his setting. Photography, according to Pierre Gable, is emotional, affectionate, loving, ironist, carnal, and critical, within the meaning of sensualistic philosophy. May this collection of pictures help raise people’s awareness that they are “part of the world” anyhow.

I am inspired by everyday life. Everything that I see or experience can be the start of a new drawing. But eventually the drawing is a new creation. I would like to become an Artsetter Artist, to show more people my work and maybe get some extra feedback.
